Why We Built Bete Nbab From the Ground Up

A generic phrasebook translation doesn't get the job done. That's why we design every lesson from the ground up for Ethiopian learners — the same grammar points, the same real-world examples, explained through Amharic rather than swapped word-for-word.

Most language apps are built once and localized everywhere. We took the opposite approach: build the curriculum around how Ethiopians already think about language, then layer English and Arabic on top of that structure.

That means examples drawn from daily life in Addis Ababa, pacing that respects how much Amharic grammar already overlaps with Semitic languages like Arabic, and explanations that never assume you already know a third language to understand the second one.
